Mom and baby yoga classes are popular with new mothers. These classes are designed to accommodate babies six weeks to crawling. If there are no severe limitations, your doctor will probably give you the okay to exercise six to eight weeks after you give birth. |

| What to expect! In the mom and baby yoga classes, moms place a baby blanket from home at the top of her mat. (Also, feel free to bring a few small toys.) Mom and baby yoga is a baby focus practice so Moms are totally free to pick up their babies and feed them, rock them, change them, or walk around with them if they cry or fuss. Will my baby like yoga? This depends a lot on the personality of the baby. Some babies love yoga and delight in the new sights and stimulations of the classroom environment, while others may seem distressed by the very same stimulations. A few may sleep happily through the whole thing. Some may cry a lot at first, but eventually get used to it, so don't give up if the first class doesn't go well. What's in it for me? Hopefully, a bit of a work out while bonding with your baby. Some of the classes are very gentle and focus a lot on playing little games with the baby and other classes focus on the parent or caregiver and offer a workout style class. Each class is flexible and focuses on the needs of the current students. One thing is for sure, the value of getting out of the house in a relaxing, non-stressful environment where you will meet other new parents should not be underestimated.
