About Rhonda |
 |
As a dedicated jogger since
1982, Rhonda decided to add yoga to her training.
The increase in strength and flexibility made such an
impact to her running and physical body that she wanted
to lean more about this ancient practice of yoga.
Rhonda began her ongoing practice of yoga in February of
2008 at Sun Moon Yoga Studio in Ann Arbor.
She received her RYT 200
Teaching Certification under the instruction of Master teacher
Sondra O’Donnell E-RYT 500. |
Rhonda added to her teaching skills
in June 2008 by completing both Level I and Level II of Silver
Sneakers Senior Fitness Program “Yoga Stretch”. Her additional
education includes certification in Child Care and Development
from Recreational Center Ypsilanti, Michigan, an Associate Degree in Applied
Science from Washtenaw Community College in Ann Arbor, Michigan,
and is current in CPR and First Aid Certification. Currently
Rhonda is furthering her education with self-studies in
classical yoga, Ayurveda nutrition, and Sanskrit with an
interest in yoga anatomy and therapeutic yoga.
Rhonda also served her country in both Active and Reserve status from 1982
till 1995 and holds several U. S. Military School Certifications
in various fields.
Rhonda’s styles of teachings include several different yoga disciplines
such as Iyenger, Hatha, Vinyasa and Restorative with an
influence on traditional practice of meditation, Chakra’s and
Bandha’s.
Her senior and physically challenged gentle yoga class is a
mix of Asana and breath work using props and chairs,
with some standing flow stretches.
Her children’s classes
incorporate a mix of yoga, story time, and games utilizing tools
from some of the greatest teachers in children’s yoga, Baron Baptiste’s “My Daddy is a Pretzel” and Marsha Wenig’s “Yoga
Kids”.
Most importantly Rhonda brings to her classes a deep commitment to a
more natural, happy, healthy and spiritual path of life through
Yoga.
Rhonda shares her yogic path with her loving husband Robert, her
son Dennis, her mother Mae, and a blind pit bull named Tone Dog. |
